Best Sights & Activities -(Public Golf Courses)
Castle Hills
(Sights & Activities - Public Golf Courses)
699 Lady of the Lake BlvdLewisville TX 75056 972-899-7400
Description:
LEWISVILLE. Surprisingly enough, this tough course is noteworthy for its hilly terrain, an oddity in relatively flat Dallas. Golfers of all skill levels find ample challenges rolling fairways that sometimes hide greens, numerous water hazards, difficult out-of-bounds areas, and unforgiving greens. Be ready for number seven, a "mere" 200-plus-yarder highlighted by a beautiful pond just don't let the scenery distract you!
Chase Oaks Golf Course Blackjack
(Sights & Activities - Public Golf Courses)
7201 Chase Oaks BlvdPlano TX 75025 972-517-7777
Description:
PLANO. A course that requires you to think about each shot, this demanding layout puts up a good fight. These fairways are relatively tight with a handful of streams and ponds creating further problems. The greens are quick and hard to hit. Higher shots will tend to hold better, however that brings the wind further into play, greatly increasing the difficulty of these already tough approaches.

Tangle Ridge Golf Club
(Sights & Activities - Public Golf Courses)
818 Tangle Ridge DrGrand Prairie TX 75052 972-299-6837
Description:
GRAND PRAIRIE. You can bring out the driver on this course as most of these fairways have liberal landing areas, however severely off-line shots can find the treacherous woodlands lining most of these holes. The trouble peppering this layout includes bunkers, water hazards, mounds and gullies. While changes in elevation here will provide some scenic views, they also tend to make club selection a challenge.
The Tenison Park
(Sights & Activities - Public Golf Courses)
3501 Samuel BlvdDallas TX 75223 214-670-1402
Description:
TENISON PARK. This historic links-style course, which dates back to the WW II era, is still the prize of Tenison Park. Featuring spacious fairways and nine holes with water hazards, the Glen was laid out on the banks of White Rock Creek and is flanked on all sides by towering hardwoods. The "newer" (1920) Highlands course recently received an overhaul that included the addition of five new lakes.
